Originally from the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, I grew up surrounded by beautiful farmland while being influenced by the PA Dutch culture that is prevalent throughout the region and also an important part of my family heritage. Shoofly Pie, Lebanon Bologna, Scrapple with Apple Butter, Kraut and Fastnachts have always been part of my family’s home cooking traditions. Not only are these foods rich in PA Dutch history but also rich in fat, sugar and calorie content. I think you get the point, we’re not known for diet food but we’re high on the comfort food scale.
My understanding and passion for food started with the basics. My family grew a lot of our own food and we would eat what was freshly harvested. Helping with the harvest and hanging out in the kitchen when someone was cooking was something we all enjoyed. I’ve always felt comfortable in the kitchen and my love for everything within the culinary world grew from these authentic farm to table experiences.
During my 20 years in business, my photography has evolved naturally into what I specialize in today. As a photographer capturing images of food, drink and interior environments, my abilities allow me to accommodate a niche within the hospitality and food industries. My style of photography is adaptive and dictated by my intuition with solid goals in mind. I can create natural daylight on a dark rainy day and I can use highly stylized lighting for a studio approach at any location. Nothing should compromise the approach to a photoshoot.
I live in Bucks County, PA with my very creative wife and studio manager Andrea and our two energetic daughters who keep us on the move and mentally sharp. I mostly work with clients in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey & New York region. Photoshoots are either on-location or in studio environments with all the creative resources available for a successful production, and since COVID-19, remote photoshoots of course have become very much in demand. I’m available for commissions anywhere you need me.
